After reading the Signature Limited Edition post (click HERE), the current owner of this guitar brought it to my attention. While I’m hoping to get some better pictures, it’s still worth a mention!
In that post we mention the so-called “RM overrun” guitars that have shown up—guitars assembled with “leftover” 370/12RM bodies without all the other Limited Edition specs. Well, here’s another “overrun” guitar. Only this time it’s a Susanna Hoffs overrun.

The 350SH finished its run in mid 1991, going down in history as (to date!) the only 350 variant with “deluxe” features like top and back checkered binding and full width acrylic triangle inlays. The only one, that is, except for this January 1992 guitar—which is clearly a SH husk with standard period Higains.

The owner tells us “The case has a gold circle sticker on it. I like to assume an employee put it on there Willy Wonka style and sent it out there to be sold as a standard 350.” I’d like to think that too. At least two other SH overruns have been identified.
Never seen one before. That is so awesome, and so Rickenbacker.
Andy, I will get you better pictures when i get back next week. The checkered binding deserves better pics than an iPhone 4s from a decade ago.
