I have to say, i'm almost honored to be the first one to generally comment on these articles. And I do enjoy em. I enjoy looking at the guitars. Because quite honestly, I just love the craftsmanship of Rickenbacker guitars. I tend to liken them to sports cars. Corvettes, if you will. As I do feel similar love for Gretsch guitars I love them both, and I feel like they complement each other well on a group as the Beatles and many other groups have proven.

With all that said, when it comes to these types of finishes, bursts.... I'm sorry to say that. They just don't pull it off. Mind you, fire glow and those types can look beautiful. And every so often you'll see a supposed fire glow, lean a little pink, which I don't like. And I like the fact that they're trying to go for different looks. But it just does not succeed with colors like green and blue and purple.Because the center part always just looks like lightly.Dusted wood with some odd color of paint. It's not flattering.

Creamy glossy bursts in colors that probably lean better with wood tones like red and oranges. Those seem to be okay.

But anyway, that's just my take.Everybody's got their own opinion.I understand that.

I know if I was a multimillionaire, I would have a huge collection of rick and baker, guitars and my favorite color selections. But I don't know that it would be these. I still would love to have after the 325C64 that I do Have, a 330, 345, 375, 360/12C63, 381, 381/12 all in JG. Badass looks

An online Rickfriend has a transblue 4004 that turned a DEEP PURPLE color.

It’s gorgeous, he refers to it as “Barney”. 😅

The transgreen color was also subject to a lot of UV-caused variations, ranging from a nauseating split pea color to a deep lagoon blue green.

Man, I love it when new posts show up here - I pretty much always open these as soon as I can. Every freaking time.
