I have two 73’s from March and June with original hardware including bridge/tail pieces on them. I’d say around a 1/16”of tail lift on the June. March is 1/16” at most of tail lift. Woody’s ‘74 4000 has 1/8” and the ‘75 4001s has 1/16” tail lift. Woody’s is this probably the worst of the four.

Now, if they’d just come out with a muteless option…..😉

All my 4000 and 4002 basses got aftermarket bridges installed. (hipshot and Starz)

Your ‘74 looks like it has an original part on it. Looks identical as my June 73, 4001 Bridgetail. And it’s got the most tail lift of the four 70’s basses I own.

I don’t know what bridge wound up on there, but the original bridge/tailpiece and tuning keys were removed and sold shortly after I bought the bass in the early 2000s. I had the deer antler nut, refret, copper shielding, and Hipshot aluminum bridge and Hb5 tuners all done at that time, and the bass remained that way till I sold it in 2022.

Both owners after me did several more major modifications, losing the original higain pickup, hipshot bridge, and original black pickguard and black plexi trc.
