The upper horn of the ‘62 (and beyond) 4000 series is just part of the most elegant design ever created for a bass guitar.(imho).
Was ‘62 also the year the 4000’s body wings went on a diet? (Thinner depth).
Also,that Transred Cheyenne ii is just stunning. I have an 06 Fireglo Cii that has had the same stacked knob modifications done to it.
I think the Cii is the ultimate refinement of the 4000 body shape and look, eschewing all the 50’s hardware.
I noticed when you referenced the 4004, there was no “click here for more” option. Just sayin’.😉
The skinny body and longer horn happened together in late 61. As regards the 4004, it’s in the queue. Patience is a virtue!
