OK, I’m just going to pretend I didn’t ruin the surprise yesterday…
Let’s be honest: as we get close to 200 articles, the Rickenbacker101 Archives were feeling very clunky. Getting through it was…a slog.
It’s one of the many limitations of the Substack platform that have frustrated me. On the other hand, it’s completely free, and for a hobby website, it’s hard to beat free.
So I’ve started working on a shiny new front end for Rickenbacker101 that should make navigating it all a lot easier. We’ll keep the nice, free Substack platform around for hosting purposes, but the new front end will have a much more intuitive interface—and given that it’s relatively small, it’ll also be free. Win-win!
But I’ve been busy and that project isn’t a terribly high priority so I’m not sure when I’ll finish it. Meanwhile, the Archive still sucks.
Or rather, it did!
Introducing the new and improved Rickenbacker101 Archives!
Nearly 200 articles (and counting!) covering everything from Rickenbacker’s earliest instruments to the latest factory oddities, now organized into categories that actually make sense.
It’s still on Substack, but it should give you a sneak peek at the look and feel I’m working toward…and it’s much easier to navigate.
Click on the link below and take a look…it’s full of rabbit holes!
